In 1994, a column by Nancy Q. Keefe in the Gannett Suburban Newspapers captured a rare moment in politics: a gathering at the law school where people came together not to criticize—but to praise a Congressman. His former staff spoke of Dick Ottinger as “the most principled” person they had ever met, someone who “had the courage to tell the truth” and who “stood for something when he ran for office.” That same integrity defined his leadership at Pace Law School, earning the admiration of fellow professors, students, and all who had the privilege to work alongside him.
