Professor Allison Pincus joined the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University faculty in 2026. Professor Pincus’s scholarship explores the role of law in advancing equitable and inclusive access to opportunity in housing and education, and, conversely, in creating or perpetuating barriers to opportunity in these two areas. She has a particular interest in examining the interplay between the nation's housing crisis and the complex systems of zoning and redlining that developed over decades to reinforce segregation and inequality.
Prior to joining Pace Haub Law, Professor Pincus served as a Senior Policy Advisor and Director of Federal Programs at the Connecticut Department of Economic & Community Development, where she had the opportunity to shape state-level housing policy and work with a wide range of stakeholders pursuing federal funding under the Biden Administration, as well as the Connecticut Attorney General’s Office on issues related to federal funding under the current federal administration. Before that, Professor Pincus was a lawyer in private practice in New York City. Her practice included commercial litigation in addition to representing clients seeking parole. After law school, Professor Pincus clerked for the Honorable Stefan R. Underhill of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
Professor Pincus earned her JD from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, and her BA from Brown University. Prior to attending law school, Professor Pincus worked at Relman Colfax PLLC in Washington, D.C., which focused on litigating fair housing cases. She also worked as a middle school teacher.
The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University is pleased to welcome Professor Allison Pincus as Assistant Professor of Law to its full-time faculty. Bringing experience across government, public policy, and legal practice, Professor Pincus will teach Civil Procedure, Housing Development and Discrimination, and Federal Courts.
