Biography
ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES
Dr. Charles Y. Tang is Professor of Accounting in the Accounting Department at the Lubin School of Business, Pace University. His research interests include accounting information, auditing, and equity valuation. His work has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Accounting Horizons, Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance, and Strategic Management Journal, among others. He has presented his research at national and international conferences, including the annual meetings of the American Accounting Association.
Dr. Tang has served as a reviewer for academic journals and as a member of doctoral dissertation committees at Lubin and other business schools. His research has been widely cited by other scholars, and one of his papers was recognized as a Social Science Research Network Top 10 Downloaded Paper in Accounting and Finance. In 2015, he received Lubin’s Excellence in Research Award.
Dr. Tang teaches financial accounting, managerial accounting, and Accounting for the Global Financial Markets at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. His teaching has been highly rated by students and peers. In 2014, he received the Kenan Award for Teaching Excellence, Pace University’s highest honor for teaching.
Dr. Tang currently serves as Chair of the Accounting Department. Prior to becoming chair, he served as Acting Chair of the Graduate Programs in Accounting and as faculty advisor to Pace University’s Iota Lambda Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the international honor organization for students and professionals in accounting, finance, and information systems. He received the Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award from the Beta Alpha Psi National Headquarters and the Lubin School of Business Excellence in Service Award in 2013.
