Biography

Faculty Bio

Dr. Christopher R. DeJesus is an Assistant Professor of Psychology and a core faculty member of the Clinical Psychology PhD (Health Care Emphasis) program. His research focuses on improving access to evidence-based (scientifically supported) treatments for traumatic stress disorders. The goal of his research is to reduce suffering due to untreated traumatic stress for a greater number of trauma survivors by conducting quantitative and qualitative studies on these high-quality treatments at various scales, from brief interventions to intensive programs.

Dr. DeJesus is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of New York who has developed considerable expertise in the assessment and treatment of traumatic stress disorders in civilians and Veterans alike. He completed his APA-accredited internship in Health Service Psychology at the VA Healthcare System of the Ozarks (Fayetteville, AR), during which he became a certified provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. Following completion of internship, Dr. DeJesus began a two-year NIMH T32 Postdoctoral Fellowship at the National Center for PTSD (Behavioral Science Division) and Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine at Boston University where he received mentorship on clinical research methodology and co-authored publications that demonstrated the utility and effectiveness of Written Exposure Therapy for PTSD.
