ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES
Dr. Lawrence G. Singleton is Dean Emeritus and Professor of Accounting at the Lubin School of Business, where he previously served as Dean from 2020–2025. A nationally recognized academic leader, he has built a distinguished career advancing business education through strategic innovation, fundraising, global engagement, and industry collaboration. Across leadership roles at Pace University, Marist College, and George Washington University School of Business, Dr. Singleton has strengthened academic programs, expanded international partnerships, enhanced student success initiatives, and elevated institutional visibility.
At Pace University, Dr. Singleton led the AACSB-accredited Lubin School of Business through a period of significant growth and transformation. Under his leadership, the school secured more than $18 million in philanthropic support, launched new graduate and STEM-designated programs, expanded global partnerships, and established centers focused on sustainable business, entrepreneurship, and global business development. He also guided strategic planning initiatives aligned with university priorities and led the school’s AACSB reaccreditation efforts.
Previously, as Dean of the School of Management at Marist College, Dr. Singleton developed innovative graduate programs in accountancy, analytics, cybersecurity, and nonprofit management while strengthening employer engagement through partnerships with leading firms and organizations. He also established experiential initiatives connecting students with employers in New York City and collaborated with the United States Military Academy at West Point on leadership development programming.
During his tenure at George Washington University, Dr. Singleton served as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Professor of Accountancy. He created nationally recognized case competitions, expanded study abroad participation, strengthened civic engagement programming, and helped position the business school among top-ranked undergraduate programs in international business and corporate strategy.
In addition to his academic leadership, Dr. Singleton has maintained an active professional engagement portfolio through executive education and consulting with Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, and government agencies. Through Singleton Associates, LLC, he has advised organizations including the World Bank, National Geographic, and leading multinational corporations on financial reporting, organizational transparency, and business acumen development. He is also a frequent speaker on accounting, ethics, and leadership topics and has appeared on major media outlets including PBS’s Nightly Business Report and China Central Television.
Dr. Singleton’s professional service includes leadership roles with AACSB peer review teams, the Beta Gamma SigmaBoard of Governors, the Middle Atlantic Association of Colleges of Business Administration, and the HR Certification Institute Board. His scholarship and professional contributions include publications, accounting case studies, and presentations at national and international conferences.
