Matthew Wieland

Matthew is an accomplished clinician and healthcare leader with over 12 years of experience as an emergency medicine physician assistant at the NewYork Presbyterian-Columbia (NYP) Emergency Department.

Over the past four years, he has served as chief physician assistant, overseeing all aspects of PA practice across several NYP Emergency Departments and managing educational competency for the clinical team. Prior to this role, Matthew served as the PA educational director for four years.

Throughout his career, Matthew has maintained a deep passion for clinical education. His dedication to mentoring the next generation of healthcare providers earned him the PA Student Preceptor of the Year award.

In his current role as medical director of the PA Program-Pleasantville, Matthew leverages more than a decade of clinical practice, leadership, and educational experience to bridge the gap between academic instruction and real-world clinical environments.
