Raya Salter

Biography

Adjunct Professor Raya Salter is an energy justice movement attorney, activist, author and the Founder and Executive Director of the Energy Justice Law & Policy Center (EJLPC), based in New Rochelle, NY. EJLPC is focused on building grassroots power and youth leadership for environmental justice and community leadership for green and clean infrastructure.

Professor Salter is a member of the New York State Climate Action Council, has been appointed to the New York State Permanent Environmental Justice Advisory Council, and is the author of "Energy Justice" (2018). She has over 15 years of energy regulatory experience both in private practice (Dewey & LeBoeuf) and for NGOs, including the NY Renews Coalition, NRDC and the Environmental Defense Fund. Professor Salter has testified twice before the US congress on matters of environmental justice.
