Stella Capparelli

Adjunct Professor Stella Capparelli, is an attorney in New York State with experience in both civil and criminal law. She currently practices civil law with a focus on housing rights. She represents clients in matters involving landlord-tenant disputes, subsidized housing vouchers, and lease violations. Prior to her current role, she worked as a Special Victims Unit (SVU) Assistant District Attorney (ADA), where she prosecuted criminal cases and presented at multiple schools sharing insights about her role and educating students about the criminal justice system.

Professor Capparelli has published several scholarly articles relating to the criminal justice system and food law. She conducted a national study on treatment courts around the United States and presented her findings at the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) conference in Dallas, Texas (Fall 2022) and the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) annual conference in Las Vegas, Nevada (Spring 2022). During law school, she served as Senior Associate for Pace Law Review.

Professor Capparelli has always had a passion for teaching and helping students, having worked as a Dean’s Scholar for five semesters, Resident Director (RD) of Dannat Hall dormitory, and a Themis Bar Review Company essay grader for the February and July bar exams. She is well-versed in teaching UBE bar exam subjects and grading MPT and MEE essays for both LLM and JD students.
