Community Empowerment Through Local News

How can it seem like we’re connected to more information than ever before, but also less connected to one another? This panel discussion will focus on the role of local news in empowering communities, even in today’s uncertain media landscape. Leaders of local news sites including the Examiner, Rivertowns Dispatch and Recorder will discuss how they work in their communities to build inclusion, problem solving and connectedness. Panelists will share experiences, challenges, and ideas for strengthening the role of news and information in our region, as well as take questions from the audience.

This event is part of Social Justice Week.
