Honoring Leonard Peltier-Drumming Circle

As part of Social Justice Week 2025: “Acknowledging Leonard Peltier’s Activism with a Drumming Circle,” a collective gathering dedicated to reflection, healing, and action.

Through song, rhythm, and shared presence, we will honor the enduring activism of Leonard Peltier, an Indigenous political prisoner whose lifelong commitment to Native sovereignty and justice continues to inspire movements worldwide. The drumming circle invites students, faculty, and community members to come together in solidarity—recognizing the intersections of land, labor, and liberation. This event coincides with the Land and Labor Farm Symposium, themed “Finding Food Security in Insecure Times.” Together, these programs highlight the importance of self-determination, environmental justice, and the ongoing struggles for freedom faced by Indigenous peoples and all oppressed communities.
