Frequently Asked Questions About the 2027 Self-Study

  • The Self-Study is a self-reflective analysis of Pace University’s adherence to Middle States Standards of Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation (14th Edition). It focuses on how we meet the standards and on institutional improvement.

    Accreditation is required to: receive Title IV funding; be eligible for federal research grants; have our transfer credits accepted; and to be recognized for our achievements.

    The Self-Study is a 24-30 month process of data collection and analysis by cross-functional teams of faculty, staff, administrators, and students that culminates in a visit by a team of peer evaluators who issue a report to the Middle States Commission (March 2027)

  • There are approximately 100 faculty, staff and students engaged in the Working Groups. Working Groups will be collecting and evaluating data to assess compliance with each standard. We need input from every corner of the University to successfully complete the Self-Study. You can participate by joining a working group, responding to evidence requests, and attending update meetings. You will also have the opportunity to participate during the Self-Study Visit in spring 2027.
