Center for Advising

Core Components

  • First-Year Advisors support new first-time students from pre-orientation through the end of the first year. They help students understand degree requirements, build appropriate schedules, adjust to academic expectations, use university systems, and prepare for the transition to their major advisor.

  • OASP works with school and program advising teams to support consistent, accurate academic planning for continuing students. Advising structures may vary by school and program, but every student should be able to identify an advisor and understand where to go for guidance.

  • Pre-Health Advising supports students exploring and preparing for health-professions pathways. Through individual guidance, workshops, planning resources, and partnerships, students can better understand prerequisites, experiential opportunities, application preparation, and professional-school expectations.
