Joseph Macaluso is a Certified Cost Professional with over 25 years of experience estimating a large variety of construction projects in the public sector. He has worked for the New York City Transit Authority, NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation, NYC School Construction Authority, and Empire State Development Corporation. In addition to estimating he has also reviewed construction budgets, prepared construction schedules, negotiated change orders, worked in the contract administration, and the grant administration areas. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Long Island University. Mr. Macaluso was contributing editor to the RS Means Estimating Handbook, and contributed chapters for the Green Building: Project Planning & Cost Estimating, and Building & Renovating Schools books. He is also a licensed Independent Property Insurance Adjuster. Joe is the past chair of the New York Interagency Engineering Council, and the Government & Public Works section of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering, where he was awarded the Technical Excellence Award. Joe lives in Queens, NY with his wife and cat Houdini.
