(MADP) Graduate Assistantship Application
This 10-month position will provide specific administrative support and relief to the Office of Multicultural Affairs & Diversity Programs through the implementation of programming and administrative duties that support the mission and vision of the office. This position is a two-semester position (Fall-Spring) for Graduate Assistants on the Westchester Campus.

American Bar Association (ABA) Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund

The ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship grants 20 incoming diverse law students with $15,000 of financial assistance over the course of their three years in law school. During his term as ABA President, William G. Paul initiated the scholarship to encourage racially and ethnically diverse students to apply to and attend law school. Since its inception, 200 students from across the country have received the ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship. These exceptional recipients have overcome adversity, proven themselves through academic success and public service, and demonstrated the tenacity to excel within the profession.

American Institute for Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)

The AICPA Minority Scholarship awards outstanding minority students to encourage their selection of accounting as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession. Funding is provided by the AICPA Foundation, with contributions from the New Jersey Society of CPAs and Robert Half International. For four decades, this program has provided over $14 .6 million in scholarships to approximately 8,000 accounting scholars. For the 2010-11 academic year, 92 accounting students were awarded a total of $254,000. Demonstrating exceptional academic achievement, leadership and commitment to pursuing the CPA designation, these students represent 71 schools in 30 states across the country.

Asian American Journalist Association (AAJA)

Founded in 1981, the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) is a non-profit professional and educational organization with more than 1,400 members today. AAJA serves Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders by encouraging young people to consider journalism as a career, developing managers in the media industry, and promoting fair and accurate news coverage. AAJA uses the term "Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders" to embrace all Americans--both citizens and residents -- who self-identify with one or more of the three dozen nationalities and ethnic groups in East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East and the Pacific Islands. We use this term to refer to our communities at large, as well as to our membership which includes representatives from all these regions. AAJA is committed to diversity in order to incorporate different viewpoints into newsrooms across the country. AAJA is an alliance partner in UNITY Journalists of Color, along with the Native American Journalists Association, National Association of Hispanic Journalists, and National Association of Black Journalists.

Native American College Student Support Guide

Native American learners currently make up just one percent of all postsecondary students, and these small numbers are due to several factors stretching back hundreds of years. Colonization may be over, but this student population is still challenged by discrimination, cultural misappropriation, lack of access and a scarcity of support programs. In this guide, Native American and non-tribal students can learn about some of the trials facing this community of learners while also tapping into a range of resources meant to bolster Native American student numbers and support them while in school.

East-West Center

The East-West Center offers a wide variety of both short- and long-term programs for individuals. Academic scholarships and fellowships as well as educational exchange and professional development programs are available. These programs include: The Pacific Islands Development Program (PIDP) conducts a broad range of activities to enhance the quality of life in the Pacific islands. The founding mission of PIDP, established in 1980, is to assist Pacific islands leaders in advancing their collective efforts to achieve and sustain equitable social and economic development consistent with the goals of the Pacific islands region's people; The Asia Pacific Leadership Program (APLP) is the center of excellence for leadership education in Asia Pacific and a signature program of the East-West Center. The program links advanced and interdisciplinary analysis of emergent regional issues with experiential leadership learning. The APLP empowers future leaders with the knowledge, skills, experiences and supportive community needed to successfully navigate personal and regional change in the 21st century.

Multicultural Advertising Internship Program (MAIP)

Since 1973, the 4A's Multicultural Affairs Internship Program has helped jumpstart the careers of more than 2,000 African-American, Asian-American, Latino-American, Native-American, multiracial and multiethnic aspiring advertising professionals. Each year, undergraduate and graduate students are selected for a 10-week paid summer internship at an 4A's member advertising agency. Students gain practical work experience, establish key industry contacts, and perhaps most importantly, become better prepared to land a full-time job in advertising when they graduate.

Public Policy & International Affairs

The PPIA Fellowship Program is designed to prepare college juniors or rising seniors from diverse backgrounds for graduate studies in public and/or international affairs and groom them for professional roles in public service. There is an array of opportunities under the Fellowship which span a period of development from the junior year of college to beyond the completion of a graduate degree.

The Shui Kuen and Allen Chin Scholarship

Two $1,000 scholarships for restaurant workers and children of restaurant workers are available from the Shui Kuen and Allen Chin Scholarship, a program of the Asian Pacific Fund. The scholarship, founded in 2005, honors the values of Detroit restaurant owners Shui Kuen and Allen Chin through supporting the education aspirations of children of workers in the Asian/Pacific Islander food service industry in the U.S.

United Negro College Fund (UNCF)

The UNCF plays a critical role in enabling more than 60,000 students each year to attend college and get the education they want and deserve. To close the educational attainment gap between African Americans and the majority population, UNCF helps promising students attend college and graduate. The UNCF Program Services Department administers various scholarship programs. Each program has its own eligibility criteria, open/close dates and required documents. In order to apply for a UNCF Program Services Scholarship, you must apply through the online application process. The UNCF also offers internships and corporate scholars programs for qualified students.
