ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES: AN INTERDISCIPLINARY PERSPECTIVE

Our Environmental Studies program’s interdisciplinary approach provides the educational vehicle to thoroughly examine issues from a variety of perspectives—economic, ethical, political, historical, scientific, and theological. The goals of the program are to recognize the role humans play in the dynamic between nature and culture, and to develop employable skills in research techniques and problem solving.

Our alumni have gone on to graduate studies and work in the fields of environmental education, environmental law, environmental journalism, environmental management, environmental ethics, environmental policy, environmental remediation, urban planning and design, marine biology, natural resources and sustainable development, zoology, and specialized areas like desert studies, international environmental politics, and sustainable development management.

Did you know? This program has STEM designation and also puts students on track to complete a joint degree in occupational therapy, optometry, podiatry, and pharmacy with a partnered school. Learn about the benefits of STEM, including an extension for international students, and the requirements for a pre-health joint degree program
