Cayuse Implementation
Introducing Cayuse — Pace’s New IRB Application Software
The Office of Research and Graduate Education is excited to announce that Pace University is transitioning from the PURRS system to Cayuse, a modern and user-friendly platform designed to streamline research administration. This change reflects our commitment to improving efficiency, transparency, and support for our research community. Cayuse offers enhanced features for proposal development, submission tracking, and compliance oversight, making it easier for the Pace community to manage their research activities. Training and support resources will be available to ensure a smooth transition. Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare to launch Cayuse in the coming weeks!
Timeline for the Transition
- August — All researchers with protocols in PURRS will receive an email asking what should be done with the protocol
- September 30 — Deadline for letting Lindsey know what protocols need to be moved over and what will be archived
- October 10 — Access to PURRS ends
- October 12 — All protocols that have been abandoned will be given an administrative closure. No more research should be done on these studies, including collecting or analyzing data.
- October 13–November 2 — A moratorium on IRB submissions will take place. Any project that needs to submit an application must do so either before October 13 or after November 2.
- November 3 — Cayuse goes live!
What do you need to be doing?
Look out for the email from the IRB Office that lets you know what the current status of your research in PURRS is. All studies that have passed their expiration or check-in date should be closed. Alert Lindsey to what studies need to be moved over by submitting the form sent to you in August. If you cannot find this form, email Lindsey to have it sent again. Please also double-check that you have not created any applications or submissions and not completed them. All uncompleted forms will be deleted during the transition period.
