Elvin Veloz is a retired NYC Department of Education School Social Worker with a 30-year career in education supporting students from age 4 to 21 and their families. He began his career teaching for five years at a private school before transitioning to social work, and received his Master's degree of Social Work at Fordham University in 2000. His professional responsibilities included supporting students and their families, providing individual and group counseling, conducting parent workshops, and serving on school assessment teams to facilitate the special education process. In his personal life, Elvin is married for over 25 years with two children (ages 17 and 13), and enjoys running, biking, walking, and reading.
