New First Year Students Applying for Fall Housing
About Alumni Hall
Incoming first-year students are housed in Alumni Hall. Each first-year student will be assigned to a room in an area based on their First Year Interest Group preference, housing deposit date and any roommate requests (not required).
Alumni Hall has a variety of room types:
- 5 Bed Semi-Suite – Triple Room
- 5 Bed Semi-Suite – Extended Occupancy Triple Room
- 4 or 5 Bed Semi-Suite – Double Room
- 3 Bed Semi-Suite – Triple Room

What are First Year Interest Groups (FIGS)?
First Year Interest Groups are how we place first-year residents together in the residence halls. Each community is built around a common interest, some of which are academically based. Our staff in communities program around this common interest. There is a full-time faculty or staff member connected to these First Year Interest Groups.
How do I apply for housing?
After the student is admitted to the University, they will have to submit a tuition deposit. On the same site, the student will be able to place a Housing Deposit of $500. ($400 is a prepayment towards your room rent and $100 is a security deposit).
Within 3 business days after the housing deposit is submitted, Residential Life and Housing will then email the student at their Pace University email address and personal email address with information about Alumni Hall and the First Year Housing Application.
What if I need specific housing accommodations?
Student Accessibility Services must approve all Housing Accommodations. Please visit Student Accessibility Services to learn about the process, deadlines, and other information.
When are Housing Assignments released?
Housing assignments will be released to the students Pace University email address on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 (for Spring 2021 admits) and on Friday, June 25, 2021 (for Fall 2021 admits) after 3:00pm. At that time the student will know their room assignment, First Year Interest Group, and roommate(s)/suitemate(s) information.
What happens next?
Students will be asked to complete their Housing Agreement online after the Housing Assignments are released. We ask that students communicate with their roommate(s)/suitemate(s) to talk about living expectations and what you are planning on bringing for the room/suite to share.
For Spring 2021 admits, the assignment email will contain all move in and any other information.
For Fall 2021 admits:
- In July, we will send out move in information to the student’s Pace University email address.
- In August, if there are any outstanding things that need to be completed before moving in, we will email the student at their Pace University email address.
