Important Housing Dates, Policies and Forms

Housing Dates

  • August 7

    On this date, students who are assigned to a room in on campus housing, and who have completed both the Housing Agreement and the Pre-Arrival form, and who have met the Vaccination Compliance requirements, will be able to begin selecting move in appointments.

    August 30, 2021 through the start of classes

    Student Move-In (students must pre-register for a move in time; refer to email communications sent by the Housing Office in early August)

    All students must select a move-in appointment before they may move in. Please note that the targeted move-in dates for new students are September 1 and 2 for NYC, and September 2 for Pleasantville. We ask that new students plan to arrive on these days so they may attend Convocation on September 3. A small number of move-in appointments will be available as early as August 30 (this is the absolute earliest that students may move in for the fall), but we ask that students do not select these earlier dates unless they have a dire need to arrive early. Move-in appointments will continue to be available through the start of classes for students who wish to move in later. Athletes who will be arriving early for team training should make plans in accordance with the directions they receive from their coach.

    Last day to cancel Spring 2022 housing without penalty

    Winter Break Housing Applications become available (via MyHousing)

    December 1, 2021

    Winter Break Housing applications due (apply via MyHousing)

    December 22, 2021

    Residence Halls close for winter break at noon (students must check out within 24 hours of their last final exam, and all students must be out of the residence halls no later than THIS date; students wishing to stay longer MUST either be registered for winter break housing, or make arrangements with their Community Coordinator)

  • December 22, 2021–January 23, 2022

    Winter Housing. Students wishing to stay on campus during break must apply for Winter Housing through their MyHousing account no later than December 1, 2021.

  • January 23, 2022

    Residence Halls Re-Open (please follow pre-arrival guidelines and directions as provided by the Office of Residential Life and Housing to select move in appointment in advance of arrival)

    February 28, 2022

    Summer Housing Applications become available (via MyHousing)

    March 1, 2022

    Academic year room selection process formally begins; students may start submitting applications and deposits (via MyHousing) for Fall 2022 housing on this date

    March 28–31, 2022

    Special accommodations room selection process (students participating in this process must have already completed the medical accommodations approval process through the Student Accessibility Services Office)

    March 31, 2022

    Room selection deposits and applications due on this date for those students wishing to participate in online room selection for the Fall 2022 semester

    April 5, 2022

    Online room selection will begin

    April 19, 2022

    Summer housing applications due

    May 1, 2022

    Last day for returning students to secure guaranteed housing for Fall 2022 (all returning student housing applications received after this day will be referred to the non-guaranteed wait-list)

    May 14, 2022, at 12:00 p.m.

Residence Hall Insurance

While all cases of property loss and theft are dealt with in conjunction with our Office of Safety and Security, the University is not responsible for, and will not cover the replacement cost for items that are lost, damaged or stolen. A homeowner’s insurance policy, if available, may provide some coverage for a student’s personal property while away at university. Stand-alone renter’s or “dorm” insurance may provide more comprehensive coverage. This article by Consumer Reports provides an informative discussion regarding the various insurance options. There are many companies offering this type of insurance. While Pace does not endorse or recommend any particular insurer’s policy, Consumer Reports identifies “Two companies in this field and A+ rated by the Better Business Bureau are Arthur J. Gallagher and National Student Services.” We strongly encourage all residents to get an insurance policy that will cover the property they keep in their residence hall room.
