Pace Emergency Evacuation Registry (PEER)

The Pace Emergency Evacuation Registry (PEER) is a voluntary, confidential program that helps Pace University identify and support students, staff, and faculty who may need assistance during an emergency.

How PEER Works

If an evacuation is ordered in a Pace building, Safety and Security can review recent ID card activity to determine whether you entered the affected location. This allows Pace staff to:

  • reach out to you during an emergency;
  • provide appropriate assistance based on the needs you share; and
  • share your location with first responders so help can reach you as quickly as possible.

Who Should Register

PEER is intended for anyone who may require assistance during an evacuation or other emergency, including individuals with:

  • mobility limitations (temporary or permanent);
  • sensory or cognitive disabilities; or
  • short-term medical needs, such as an injury or recovery after surgery.

Privacy and Security

Your information is protected. PEER data:

  • is shared only with Pace emergency response staff and first responders;
  • is stored securely on an internal platform using end-to-end encryption; and
  • remains confidential and is accessed only during emergency situations.

How to Register

Registration takes only a few minutes and if your situation changes, it can be updated at any time. When you register, you’ll be asked to provide:

  1. Your contact information
  2. A brief description of the assistance you may need
  3. Whether your need is temporary or ongoing
