Lead by Timothy Stanfield, the Excelsior Scholars Program served as a mentoring, coaching, and academic support program aimed to support first-year, multicultural diverse students in their transition to Pace and ensure success. Eighteen upper-class students mentors were trained to welcome and support forty-five first-year students.

Upon joining the University in August 2023, Stephanie Akunvabey conducted a listening tour to understand existing diversity efforts. She found that while progress had been made, frustration persisted due to limited support structures for marginalized groups. The subsequent DEI Realignment Plan expanded services to include more historically underserved communities and emphasized proactive education and prevention, moving beyond a compliance-focused approach to Title IX.
