You're In! Let's Get Started

The purpose of Orientation is to introduce you to Pace and provide essential information that will prepare you for your first semester of classes. The 2-day Orientation program is comprised of educational sessions, academic advising and review of your first semester schedule, and an information fair where you can learn more about student organizations and departments across the University. Orientation also provides numerous opportunities to meet and connect with incoming and current Pace students. It is our hope that you gain valuable information which will prepare you to succeed at Pace.

You’ll learn about how your first semester schedule is created, various resources, campus expectations, and our dynamic Pace Community. Be sure to complete the mandatory Pre-Orientation Modules - available now.

In-Person Orientation Sessions

You’ll have an opportunity to meet with academic advisors, review your first semester schedule, participate in small and large group sessions with fellow new students, and learn more about the University.

Virtual Orientation Sessions

You’ll have an opportunity to interact with fellow new students, meet with an academic advisor, review your first semester schedule, and learn more about the campus community. These virtual sessions are available only for students who need to travel a greater distance to come to campus.

The Parent And Family Program

Parents and Family Members, we will be offering on-line modules and in-person sessions for you as well! These informative opportunities will help guide you through your student's transition to college. New students are allowed to invite two guests to their orientation session. When your student registers for orientation, they will be asked to submit your information. Orientation Checklist

  • Register for Orientation as soon as possible after receiving your orientation email.

  • Take your Placement Tests as soon as possible after receiving your orientation email.

  • Complete the Pre-Orientation Modules which are available now.

  • If you are interested in meeting with a Financial Aid Counselor, please schedule an appointment. You can schedule an appointment up to two weeks in advance, and it must be in the student's name. Once you have scheduled your appointment, you will receive any updates via text to the phone number used to schedule the appointment. If you are unable to schedule an appointment, you may contact the Financial Aid Office directly at (877) 672-1830 and speak with a Financial Aid representative.

  • Submit your photo for your Pace University Student ID card.

  • Access your Pace email account and check it regularly.

  • During your orientation session, students will stay in an on campus residence hall. Parents and guests can make hotel accommodations nearby. Please dress comfortably and causally. In addition, all students should bring toiletries, shower shoes, a towel, long twin-size bed linens or a sleeping bag, a pillow, sweatshirt/jacket, an umbrella, and any other personal items or medication that you will need.

    • The First-Year program check in begins at 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. the following day.
    • The Virtual program starts at 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
  • Pace University Center for Student Engagement offers you the opportunity to take the Clifton Strengths Assessment and receive your top 5 themes for free! After completing the assessment, you will have access to the Setter Strengths Platform ( to interact with resources, action items, and other tools to utilize your strengths inside and out of the classroom.

    If you have never taken the Strengths Assessment before, please follow the directions below:

    1. Go to the Setter Strengths Platform to begin: My CliftonStrengths | Home (
    2. Create a Strengths profile with your Pace E-mail Address so you can access it for free without a code.
    3. Take the assessment on your new profile. You will need about 30-40 minutes of uninterrupted time to complete the assessment.
    4. Review your Signature Theme Report and Insight Guide Report

    To link your existing Strengths results to your Setter Strengths Platform:

    1. Go to the Setter Strengths Platform My CliftonStrengths | Home ( and select “Continue”
    2. Sign in with the username & password that you use to view your existing results at another Gallup website
    3. Fill in the requested information on the registration page
    4. If your current account has an e-mail address that is not your Pace email, the site will require you to update and verify it. (If your account was already tied to your school e-mail address, skip to Step 6.)
    5. After entering your Pace e-mail address, you will receive an e-mail with the subject “Your Account” that contains a six-digit code. Type this code on the Email Verification page and then click Submit.
    6. If prompted, enter the same username & password you entered in Step 2
    7. Select Language
    8. Choose “Copy your results from a time you took CliftonStrengths….”
    9. Choose “Keep the results of your previous CliftonStrengths assessment under this Username & Password.” You will be asked to confirm the Top 5 Strengths results associated to the username & password you previously entered.

In addition to your Orientation checklist, there are some other things you’ll need to do this summer to make sure you’re ready for a great start this fall. To keep track of your progress, we’ve created a checklist for you in your Application Dashboard. Be sure to check it often as additional items may be added throughout the summer.

What You Need to Know To Register for Orientation

When you register for Orientation you will be asked to complete a Course Selection Questionnaire. You will need the following information, where applicable:

  • Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) as well as any college - level credits you have earned.
  • Carefully review the Learning Community information and enter, in your preferred order, the Learning Community choices you would like your advisor to take into account when making your fall schedule.

An Academic Advisor will review your responses, along with your placement test results, when creating your first semester schedule. You will receive your schedule at Orientation and have an opportunity to ask any questions.

*Please note, if you are planning to transfer college-level credits to Pace, your preliminary Transfer Credit Evaluation cannot be created until official documentation is submitted to Pace. You can learn more about how to submit your official documents on our AP, IB and College Credits page.

Mandatory F-1 Visa Status Maintenance Information Session For New International Students

All undergraduate international students on an F-1 visa who are first-time students at Pace must also attend a mandatory F-1 Visa Status Maintenance Information Session for new international students. This information session will focus on immigration regulations pertaining to international students on an F-1 visa, visa applicable benefits, restrictions, and will include a mandatory check-in procedure for activating an F-1 student's SEVIS record.
