Our two-day, overnight Orientation is your chance to dive into life at Pace, meet new friends, and get fully prepared for your first semester! Over these two days, you’ll:
- Join fun and interactive sessions to help you navigate college life
- Meet with an academic advisor and go over your first-semester schedule
- Check out the information fair to learn about student clubs, organizations, and campus resources

New Student Orientation Program

Get ready to connect, plan, and explore! You’ll meet with academic advisors, map out your pace journey, engage in interactive sessions with fellow new students, and learn more about what makes the University unique.
There are a number of dates for which students in the Pforzheimer Honors College or those with a particular major are encouraged to attend. The Orientation program will include enhancements for these designated groups on the dates indicated below. Any student may attend any one Orientation session that they choose and no one is required to attend these suggested dates.
- Wednesday, June 17, 2026–Thursday, June 18, 2026 (suggested date for Pforzheimer Honors College students)
- Thursday, June 25, 2026–Friday, June 26, 2026 (suggested date for Pforzheimer Honors College students)
- Thursday, July 9, 2026–Friday, July 10, 2026 (suggested date for Film & Screen Studies majors)
- Thursday, July 16, 2026–Friday, July 17, 2026 (suggested date for Science majors: Behavioral Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Forensic Science)
- Thursday, July 23, 2026–Friday, July 24, 2026 (suggested date for Psychology majors)
- Thursday, July 30, 2026–Friday, July 31, 2026 (suggested date for Communication & Media Studies majors and Political Science majors)

Get ready to connect, plan, and feel at home! You’ll meet fellow new students, speak with an academic advisor, map out your Pace journey, and explore the campus community. To those who attend a virtual orientation event, please note that there is an in-person session mentioned below that you must attend.

The In-person session for virtual attendees session is designed only for students that attend the Virtual orientation session to provide them with an the opportunity to have an in-person experience, participate in small and large group sessions and meet fellow students before the semester begins.

For Setter Supporter’s (Parents, Guest and Family members), we will be offering in-person sessions for you. These informative opportunities will help guide you through your student's transition to college and give you the opportunity to learn about campus life and resources available to your student during their time at Pace. New students are permitted to invite two guests to their Orientation session.
When your student registers for Orientation, they will be asked to submit your name and contact information. All undergraduate international students on an F-1 visa who are first-time students at Pace must also attend a mandatory F-1 Visa Status Maintenance Information Session for new international students. This information session will focus on immigration regulations pertaining to international students on an F-1 visa, visa applicable benefits, restrictions, and will include a mandatory check-in procedure for activating an F-1 student's SEVIS record. The Mandatory F-1 Virtual Information Session for New International Students will be held in August. Dates and zoom information will be available soon. Please visit the International website for more information.
Orientation Checklist
Register for Orientation and complete the questionnaire.
Take your Placement Assessments immediately after registering for Orientation.
Complete the Pre-Orientation Modules, prior to attending Orientation. prior to attending Orientation. Once you log into classes, go to the “Communities” tab to find the New Student Orientation page. This is where you can access your orientation modules.
It is mandatory to submit your photo for your Pace University Student ID card before you attend orientation.
Take the Clifton Strengths Assessment and receive your top 5 strengths for free! You are required to take the assessment prior to coming to orientation.
Access your Pace email account and check it regularly.
Speak with a Financial Aid Counselor. If you are interested in meeting with a Financial Aid Counselor, please schedule an appointment.

To keep track of your progress, we’ve created a checklist for you in your Application Dashboard. Be sure to check it often as additional items may be added throughout the summer.
Course Selection Questionnaire
When you register for Orientation you will be asked to complete a Course Selection Questionnaire. You will need the following information, where applicable:
- Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) as well as any college - level credits you have earned.
- Carefully review the Learning Community information and enter, in your preferred order, the Learning Community choices you would like your advisor to take into account when making your fall schedule.
An Academic Advisor will review your responses, along with your placement test results, when creating your first semester schedule. You will receive your schedule at Orientation and have an opportunity to ask any questions.
*Please note, if you are planning to transfer college-level credits to Pace, your preliminary Transfer Credit Evaluation cannot be created until official documentation is submitted to Pace. You can learn more about how to submit your official documents on our AP, IB and College Credits page.
