Brendan McCall is an actor, dancer, director, choreographer, and producer who has worked in over 40 countries on 5 continents. He has taught at the Yale School of Drama, the New School for Drama, New York University, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School, Bilkent University (Turkey), Danshögskolan and Ballettakademien (Sweden), and The International Theater Academy Norway. He has also served as Director of Production for Tulsa Ballet (USA), Producer for the Theater of Cruelty (Norway), and Manager of the Cummins Theatre (Australia). He has performed for Alexandra Beller, Maureen Fleming, Sin Cha Hong, Moisés Kaufman, Paul Langland, and Keith Thompson, and acted in both Norwegian and English. He recently completed his second residency at the Norwegian Opera House in Oslo directing a new opera in collaboration with composer Kristin Norderval, is the producer for Butoh Encounters (a series of performances, panel discussions, and workshops), and a lead performer in Meredith Monk´s Quarry. His writings on contemporary performance practice have been published in English, French, Norwegian, Russian, and Belarussian. He holds a BFA with Honors in Acting, New York University; an MFA in Dance, Bennington College; and is a designated instructor of Allan Wayne Work, the Jean Hamilton Floor Barre, and Mary Overlie´s Viewpoints.
