Shaun Seneviratne is a Sri Lankan-American filmmaker and educator based in Brooklyn, NY. Most recently, his short film TOURISTS has screened at a number of film festivals including Montclair Film Festival, San Diego Asian Film Festival, and CAAMFest. Selected credits include A REAL CHILD (screened in gallery show at BRIC), HOW WILL WE CROSS THE SEAS? (Audience Award at Zero Film Festival), and LIFE LIKE (prize for Artistic Practice at Mixed Messages 2011). As a media educator, he teaches visual storytelling for Pace University, Film Society of Lincoln Center, and BRIC. He also works as a freelance editor and has assistant edited feature films and contributed articles to Filmmaker Magazine. He graduated from the New School’s MA program in media studies and received his BA from Rutgers University. He is currently working on his first feature film, CONTINENTS.
