BFA Portfolio Requirements
A portfolio review is required for admission into the BFA in Art program.
All students wishing to enter the BFA Program in Art must first be accepted to Pace University, and then submit a mandatory portfolio for review.
A portfolio review is not required for the BA in Art.
The deadline for submitting a portfolio is March 1.
Guidelines for submission
Portfolios should contain ten (10) images of your best artwork in any medium: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, design, digital arts, video, mixed media, etc. You may choose to submit work that demonstrates a variety of media and skills, or a single cohesive body of work in one media. A list of titles and media for each image should be included. An artist statement or statement of your artistic aspirations is optional.
- Images should be in JPEG format, 72 dpi, with a maximum size of 1200 px in either direction.
- Videos may be submitted in place of images if your work is in video, animation, new media, performance art and other time-based media.
Portfolios should be uploaded to your Application Dashboard by March 1. A portfolio is required to be accepted into the BFA-Art program: A 72-credit, professional degree program where students concentrate in an area (photography, painting, video, graphic design, etc.) of their choice.
Students who do not have a portfolio at the time of application will be accepted into the 36-credit BA-Art program.
If you have questions about the program, or need help submitting images for your portfolio, please contact Jennifer Schwarting in the Art Department at email@example.com, or 212-346-1894, and she will assist you.
