The Highline Park

The High Line Park is one of NYC's newest public parks! Also known as New York's "Park in the Sky", the High Line was an abandoned elevated railroad that has been transformed into a beautiful public space. It is a wonderful example of how regular New Yorkers have organized their community and forced the city government to turn an eyesore into a premier destination. On this walk, you will travel through the neighborhoods of the Meatpacking District, Chelsea and the Hudson Yards to learn about the history and culture of each.
