Parents and Families Orientation
What is the Setter Supporter Orientation?
The Setter Supporter Program (Parent, Guest & Family Orientation) at Pace University’s NYC campus is an essential component of your students’ transition to Pace University. While students experience their own Orientation program, we offer this companion program for parents and families to help you succeed in this transition as well. You’ll be offered the opportunity to explore valuable information and presentations tailored to your own experience at Pace University.
When is Setter Supporter Orientation?
During each in-person Orientation program hosted over the summer, there is a separate Setter Supporter (Parent, Guest & Family) Orientation that takes place concurrently. The dates are as follows:
- Wednesday, June 17, 2026–Thursday, June 18, 2026
- Thursday, June 25, 2026–Friday, June 26, 2026
- Thursday, July 9, 2026–Friday, July 10, 2026
- Thursday, July 16, 2026–Friday, July 17, 2026
- Thursday, July 23, 2026–Friday, July 24, 2026
- Thursday, July 30, 2026–Friday, July 31, 2026
- Tuesday, July 14, 2026 (transfer students only)
How do I sign up for Setter Supporter Orientation?
When your student registers for their First-Year Orientation program, they will be given the option to register guests as well. We will be prepared for those guests to attend Setter Supporter Orientation on the same date(s).
I understand that my First-Year student will stay in the Pace residence halls during their Orientation. Where do the parents and guests stay?
Parents, families, and guests will need to find their own lodging, if needed. Pace University’s website has a list of nearby hotels, some of which provide discounts for those associated with our Orientation program.
Where do I park during Orientation?
There are many parking garages throughout the Financial District that parents, families, and guests can utilize during their stay. Some nearby hotels offer valet services, as well. We do not have a relationship with any specific parking garages. We recommend that you search for parking on your phone’s map.
Can I bring children to Setter Supporters Orientation?
While we do not encourage children to attend, they are permitted to attend. Please be advised that there are no child care services offered, and you will be responsible for any minors that attend Setter Supporter Orientation with you.
How do I request accessibility accommodations for Orientation?
Pace University is committed to providing universal access during Orientation. Please email us at nycorientation@pace.edu to request an accommodation. Advance notice is necessary to arrange for some requests.
Will I be able to step away from Orientation to take a work call/meeting?
Pace University’s campus has plenty of locations where you can escape for a quick call or meeting. During Orientation, we will have a specific Wi-Fi connection for students, parents, families, and guests that you can connect to.
Are there meals at Orientation?
We provide coffee and tea throughout the Orientation program, as well as lunch on Day 1 with your student. Dinner on Day 1 and breakfast on Day 2 is only available for students.
Pre-Orientation Modules
Where do students go to access the Pre-Orientation modules?
Students were sent an email with details about the Pre-Orientation modules. They can access Pre-Orientation modules by logging in with their Pace email and password.
Counseling
Is there a cost to on-campus counseling and it is available on an on-going basis?
Our counseling services are free of charge. We provide services that are clinically indicated and feasible. We have a large number of students requesting services so we cannot provide unlimited individual counseling but we provide group, psychiatric care (in tandem with either individual or group), crisis, and outreach services as well. FERPA
What is FERPA and how does a student give someone permission to their records?

Why don’t I have access to my students’ records, bills, grades, etc.?
By default, parents and families do not have access to these confidential records due to FERPA, the Family Education Rights & Privacy Act. This Act generally prohibits Pace University from disclosing personally identifiable information from a student’s education records to a third party, including a student’s parents and families, without the students’ prior written authorization. If your student would like you to have access to these records, they will have to sign a FERPA Authorization form.
Financial
What are all of the individual fees on the tuition bill?

Can I meet with a representative from Financial Aid or Student Accounts while I am at Setter Supporters Orientation?
Financial Aid and Student Accounts will be open to take appointments during Orientation. You can make those appointments by contacting the respective offices. Please note that your student will need to complete a FERPA Authorization form for these offices to disclose information to you.
When is the tuition payment due?
The tuition payment is August 1, 2026.
What is the best way to get financial aid questions answered, particularly those that are time sensitive?

When should we see the fall semester bill?
Account information can be seen online via the Payment Portal. View an up-to-date account statement.
Who shall we address if we feel there is a discrepancy in the billing amount?

Can I have my student’'s 529 plan send payment for her bill directly to the school?

Health Care and Health Insurance
What Health Care services are available on campus? Are vaccines available?

Are all students able to be seen at University Health Care on campus?
All Pace University students are able to be seen by UHC. The University Health Service Fee, in conjunction with your health insurance, will cover UHC visits for sickness and accidents. UHC is able to bill your insurance directly. Diagnostic tests and procedures may incur additional charges. Find out more on our University Health Care page.
What immunizations are required and how should those be submitted?

Are you able to pay for Pace’s health insurance monthly?
The health insurance cannot be paid separately by month. However, you are able to sign up for a payment plan for your overall Pace University bill.
Where can a student register for the student health portal?
Register at the Student Health Portal site.
Housing
Setter Supporters will have the opportunity to speak with Residential Life & Housing Operations during Setter Supporters Orientation. There is also a wealth of information on the Housing website. Any other inquiries can be directed to housing@pace.edu
International Students
How are international students supported on campus?
The International Students and Scholars Office is here to support all international students at Pace.
Jobs and Career Services
Where can a student find out about jobs on campus?
Students can go to the Careers site to search for on-campus jobs.
Where can I find out more information about Work Study?
Work study is offered via the financial aid package. We do offer on-campus student positions that do not require work study as well. Additionally, you can email financial aid and inquire if you could be considered for Work Study at financialaid@pace.edu. Learn more about work study.
Where can a student find out about internships?
Students should visit the Career Services internship page. Career Services has relationships with 8,000+ regional and national organizations in numerous industries—including business, government, entertainment, healthcare, and technology.

Yes, there are always vegan and vegetarian options available.
Security
Where can someone sign up for Pace Alerts?
Sign up for the emergency Pace Alert system.
Does Pace provide escorts should a student be uncomfortable traveling alone?
The Safety & Security office provides an escort service between any two points on campus 24/7. Contact the Safety and Security office.

There is a free shuttle between campuses on a daily basis.
Can students get a MetroCard through Pace?
Unfortunately New York City Transit does not offer discounts to college students. However, there are discounts for the NJ Transit.
